I kind of have an announcement. It's a good one. So I wrote a poem, just for you. I spent an awfully long time on this. I hope you approve.
The effect is improved if you recite it aloud while jumping rope.

First came love
Then came marriage
Now we're gonna need a baby carriage
Jesus is amazing. And we're over-the-moon happy. (Well, I am when I'm not feeling ill, which is often. "Morning" sickness, my foot. Who are these lucky women who only get sick before lunch? But all told, it's really not too bad.)
Obviously, we will need your name suggestions or this baby is going to be called some crazy name out of a Hawthorne novel.
More details to come! :)
"The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life."
(Job 33:4)
So excited for you guys! What a blessing! And yes... morning sickness isn't always only in the mornings... my solution was grapes (yep) - popping a grape in every once and a while when I felt nauseous was really helpful (unless you can't stand the sight of grapes right now - which could be likely). :) Enjoy every moment! Before you know it that little one will be crawling around getting into everything and melting your heart with his/her smile! - Heather
ReplyDeleteYay!!! I have been wondering when this was going to pop up-- congratulations!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd under no circumstances are you to name that sweet baby Hester.

You don't have to actually post this comment, but I thought you might find this link helpful since it sounds like you're not feeling so great. :-/ I've haven't had to deal with morning sickness (yet), but I came across this recently and wondered if it would be helpful for people who do. You very well may have already seen it since I know you follow a lot of natural health blogs too. http://www.mommypotamus.com/the-real-cause-of-morning-sickness/ Praying for you guys and super duper excited for you!!!

I am thrilled beyond words for you! How kind of God to give you a child. When are you due?
ReplyDeletehaha, I'm actually not sure. We had an ultrasound last night to figure that out, and the midwife should get back to me soon.
DeleteYay! I don't like mornings, but it doesn't have to do with anything here, haha.
ReplyDeleteSo happy for you two!!!
I'm so excited for you both! (My two cents for names : Miranda for a girl, because she's a miracle, or Mirandola if it's a boy, because he had something to with predictions. ;) ) I'm so excited for you both, and we have started praying for you three!
ReplyDeleteSOOOO very happy for you. And yes, who are those lucky women? I was not one....all-day-sickness would have been more like it. But thankfully, never really the all-out-barf sickness, just the wish-I-could-barf-so-I'd-feel-better sickness. Hope it doesn't last too long and that you will find foods that you can tolerate and that you'll breeze right through the whole 9 months.
ReplyDeleteGAH!!! Thank you, Jesus! :-) Rebekah, you've been on my heart so much lately and it thrills me to hear this news!
ReplyDeleteI too was really sick with both pregnancies, though wouldn't actually throw up most of the time. I could just literally smell everything...and every smell (except speariment!) made me nauseous. Seriously. I had a superhuman nose!
Again, congratulations to you both! :-)
Aaaah! This is so great! I had to give up my lurking just to give a shout! My husband and I have been praying for you. Now we will have some praise prayers to send up! I can't tell you how delighted I am for this.
ReplyDeleteMy sympathies on the "morning" sickness! Eat your protein, if you can, haha. ;) I'm sure that you're already doing tons of research on pregnancy health and diet.
Praise God for this blessing!
Love,
Courtney [Wright] Handermann
Thank you Courtney! :) You know, coffee and tea are the only things I absolutely can't stand right now. Protein? I'm on it... meat, eggs, yogurt. It's actually vegetables that are less appealing. I'd much rather eat peanut butter than broccoli. Oh well. I figure I've always eaten so many veggies, it's probably okay if I don't get as many in for a couple of months...
DeleteAhh yes the names...
ReplyDeleteYou have my ideas already.....
If I think of any more suggestions I'll let you know.
Now what are you gonna do?

SO EXCITING! Praise be to God! SOOO happy for you. Ransom is hopping around the kitchen squealing because mommy exclaimed so loud and happy just now.
ReplyDeleteSo excited, as you already know! :) And I approve of the poem. I can tell you put a lot of work into it, and it reassures me that your time spent studying the great literature in college was not wasted!
ReplyDeleteHands down, probably the most eloquent poem ever written by an English major. ;) Congrats.
