Mellifluous Mondays: Clever Ogden

Ogden Nash is one of my favorite poets. He's ridiculous.

"A Word to Husbands"

To keep your marriage brimming
With love in the loving cup,
Whenever you're wrong, admit it;
Whenever you're right, shut up.

"Introspective Reflection"

I would live all my life in nonchalance and insouciance
Were it not for making a living, which is rather a nouciance.

"Reflection on Icebreaking"

Is dandy
But liquor
Is quicker.

  1. I had no idea that last one was actually written by a respectable poet and not a fraternity boy.
